WordPress.COM (as opposed to WordPress.ORG) is for those who want to concentrate on their blog or website and not worry about maintenance and security updates.
Bring your laptop to this workshop led by Lydia Rogers and get started on your website or blog. If you have a WordPress account, bring your user name and password. If not, you’ll learn how to create one.
During the 90-minutes we’ll review how to:
- Create a WordPress.com account
- Choose type of site (e.g. for non-profit, personal portfolio, blog, small business)
- Take a first tour of your site as it initially comes from WordPress
- Begin to customize your site
- Personalize your home page with colors and fonts
- Add a header image
- Establish your front page
- Create written content
- Insert images and/or video
- Edit content on your website
- Judge how your site will look on different devices (e.g. desktop, tablets, mobile phones)
